Selman Marrakech
Marrakech has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but Selman Marrakech has a character all its own. I visited during the Luxury Boutique Collections Summer Party, and it’s a stunning, wonderfully opulent five-star hotel.
Designed by Jacques Garcia, Selman has richly layered interiors and a magnificent pool stretching through its gardens. What makes it especially memorable, though, is its connection to Arabian horses. The hotel has its own stables, and the horses are at the heart of its story.
As someone who loves horses, I was particularly excited to try yoga on horseback. It was great fun, though perhaps not for the faint-hearted! There was something wonderfully freeing about trying an experience I wouldn’t normally come across at home. That’s one of the things I love about travel - the chance to say yes to something unexpected and come away with a story.
Beyond the horses, Selman is a place to slow down. Rooms, suites and private villas are set among the gardens, and there’s a Chenot Spa for anyone who wants to make wellness part of their stay. Dining ranges from Moroccan cuisine at Assyl to SABO, an elegant French restaurant with particularly gorgeous table setting.
I’d recommend Selman to couples, horse lovers and anyone looking for a Marrakech hotel that feels like an occasion. Set away from the bustle of the medina, it gives you room to relax between days exploring the city.
If Marrakech is on your list, I’d be delighted to help you decide whether Selman is the right fit and plan a trip around the experiences you’ll enjoy most.
I visited Selman Marrakech as part of a travel industry event.
